Gaming Tokens

So obviously when I got my own laser cutter, first thing I looked at was tokens for myself, (and friends they always want stuff), so as the main game I been playing of late is a Mob Football game by Steamforged game, you may have heard of it, its this little small game that kickstarter 4 years ago its not this massive world wide thing or anything. So obviously looked at tokens and what i was using (at the time a mixture of 3rd party, official, and home made printed ones using resin domes for some strength), and decided I wanted something nicer. So in comes my work, I did a number of different movement widgets (30 and 40 mm snake widgets) and some normal measuring rulers. Along with Condition and AoE tokens, and the specialist kick widgets for the Mob Football game.

Then I started work on different team tokens, which I use for myself and friends who since brought them off me. Of late I been getting back into Warmachine more so I started to produce tokens for that game as well, focus, spells and abilities along with templates needed to play.

Again I keep stuff relatively generic so the style fits with multiple armies but also keeps costs done as there nothing 2 time consuming to cut or design, These will all end up on my etsy store as I work out best way to package and sell them.

Tournament Trays

Well over the past 4 months I been building up items that i cut via my Laser Cutter, brought back in December. To start with mostly stuff for myself and local friends (Mob Football Tokens, widgets and other items). Right now I created 3 size tournament trays from the small one which is great to to fit some models on and 18 slots for tokens underneath, but no room for widgets etc, while the biggest design as slots for 21 sets of tokens and lots of space for widgets. The last design is a balance between the 2, but fits into the bottom of one of the more popular transport cases for armies, replacing one 1/4 depth half size foam. The plan with these are that they be sold on Etsy additionally but long term they may appear on a store on this site, but for now Etsy’s allows me to start selling them now and we see where we are in 6 months time.

So this is the lid and the bottom of the Large design, as you can see will take a 10″ widget in the storage section, along with plenty of space for any tokens and with the model tray configuration up to 13 models, (there a few layouts setup for this to give people options)

So the Different layouts for models look like

To you got options for extra 50mm and 40mm depending what sort of teams, crews you use, All the larger slots also are cut with rings for small bases in as well, so you got plenty of options to make it work.

The Small Tournament tray is great if you just want something to hold your tokens and models for games.

Again there a few options for layouts for the top to give yo a few options

Again all the larger slots will also be cut to take the smaller bases with rings as fillers.
On top of the trays with token storage with I done a thin flat tray which was requested by a friend, which is great if you already got token storage that you like and not looking to replace it, it does have space for 3 plot cards to slot in the back so during games you can keep your cards in easy view.

Ok so at present i making a point of trying to keep the numbers of games down to a managable level, so I made a decision that for the next 6 months I going to play just 3 games

Malifaux – I play guild, going to try and play only a few masters and start getting my head round the game system. So at present I think i going to play Nellie and Lady Justice, with maybe a bit of Sonnia. But Right now I got 2 tables sorted for the game, one which is transportable and one which really isn’t, amazing how much Hirst Art Mold flooring and bricks add to weight of items. Will do some photos of the board sooner.

Guild Ball – I love this game, I am a pundit for Steamforged and love the style and pace. I am at nationals in October and Steamcon in November. I going to play 2 guilds for the next 6 months, Morticians and Alchemists (which I playing in the Local Big League). Not sure which I going to take to Nationals but it will be one of those 2 teams.

Warmachine – Ok MK3 brought some enjoyment back for me, but the issue is with just how competitively driven the local meta is becoming. I play games first for fun, secondly for competition and right now I struggle to want to go to tournaments locally because of the 2 or 3 players I just don’t want to deal with. Maybe this will change but right now I am not sure what I going to do about that.
